Overview
Learning how to influence and persuade others is one of the most valuable and transferable skills to have. In order to influence the thinking and behaviour of others, and persuade them to your way of thinking, you need to communicate confidently, build a relationship and remain assertive even when pressurised. This course is designed to enable you to be more confident, influential and persuasive in any situation through recognising the link between your communication skills and the impact they can on others. This course also includes the strategies and tactics of negotiating with others.

Audience
This programme is ideal for you if you would benefit from an enhanced ability to persuade and influence others in the workplace. This course will help you communicate with others more effectively, get yourself heard and encourage others to value your opinions.
How the course is delivered
This programme is run in an interactive and participative way. New learning will be introduced within a series of tasks enabling participants to consolidate new techniques through practical application, as well as reflecting upon their experiences on their own and in small groups.
Prerequisites
- Before the course you will be invited to think about and define 3 learning goals. These are things that you would like to gain or achieve as a result of the 2 days.

- Confidence and self-esteem: where does confidence come from and what diminishes it?
- Building self-esteem without alienating others; assertiveness and how it can help; positive thinking and positive language
- The power of persuasion: sharing ideas and visions; creating empathy; understanding other people's values and motivation; listening, observing, questioning
- Internal Filtering programmes - how your awareness can make all the difference to your communication with others for effective influencing
- Improving communication: the use of language, verbal and non-verbal
- Reducing conflict: avoiding negative responses; handling differences of opinion
- Getting people to believe in your ideas
- Your own influencing style
- Questioning techniques
- Negotiation strategies and tactics
